Applications are now open for Artist in Residence Programme, an opportunity for an artist to live on Waiheke Island and create a body of work over a maximum of a 12-week period.
The selected artist will experience the vibrant island art scene that is home to many creatives working across a range of media and approaches. The island provides access to stunning white sandy beaches, native bush walks, iconic restaurants and vineyards. Living and working in the beautiful and unique island environment, their artists are inspired to develop and expand their practice and create a new body of work for an exhibition at the end of their residency.
Benefits
- Artists will receive the following benefits:
- 13 weeks accommodation (one week to set-up/pock-down and 72 weeks of residency), including electricity, Wi-Fi and water.
- A large studio space. A barn owned by a local resident has been provided for the artist to work in to create their body of work. The residence provided is separate from the barn. No tools or equipment are provided in the barn.
- A stipend for living expenses for up to 12 weeks and materials provided to the value of $1000.
- Seven return ferry trips (two trips with Seat ink and five with Fullers).
