CCS NIAM Centre for Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Skill Development launches “Startup Agri-Business Incubation Program” under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana- Remunerative Approaches for Agriculture and Allied sector Rejuvenation (RKVY- RAFTAAR).

Startup agri-businesses eager to get integrated incubation support comprising of business mentoring, technical assistance, access to domain experts, marketing and networking support are encouraged to apply.

Objectives

  • To ensure timely seed support to deserving incubatees.
  • To enable translation of minimum viable product (MVP) to marketable stage and scale up the product and business.
  • To provide a platform for faster experimentation and modification in their approaches or minimum viable product (MVP) based on innovative solutions/ processes / products/ services/ business models etc, for scaling up.

How It Works?

  • Phase 1
    • 2-Month Online Learning & Mentoring Incubation Program
      • What Happens: Once selected, the startups & innovators receive transformational support. The selected individuals & groups participate in mentoring & coaching with the technical experts, business & thought leaders. They also get access to the powerful network of startups & founders. This is one of the strongest networks of change makers who are transforming agriculture & allied sectors.
      • The Result: The participants’ prototype is passed through multiple technical validations, business assessments, IP and other checks to create a feasible, viable, and scalable product ready for the market. Finally, the participants get to pitch their product to the panel of experts and the selected startups have the opportunity to get incubation with a Grant-in-Aid of upto INR 25,00,000.

·         Phase 2

  • 1-Year Incubation Program
    • What Happens: The selected startups receive mentoring and grant-in-aid of upto INR 25,00,000 (in milestone based 3-tranches) to commercially launch their product. They are mentored to run & sustain their business, grow their market linkages & connections, and develop a plan for scaling up. The start-ups also get field trials and pilot opportunities along side.
    • The Result: In the program, the startups develop a better product & business acumen, their professional network grows in quantity as well as quality, and they have more options of raising money.

Eligibility Criteria

  • All incubatees will be eligible for this funding on the basis of consistent performance evaluated by CIC.
  • The applicant should be a registered legal entity in India.
  • The applicant has to be an Indian start-up as per DIPP (Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion) notification. This support is not meant for Indian Subsidiaries of MNCs/foreign companies.
  • A startup supported once will not be eligible for applying for the subsequent round of seed support.
