The Oficinas Do Convento with its Program for Artistic Residency Grant Program invites individuals to submit proposals that utilize BRICK, whether through its direct application objectual, constructive or by exploring new forms, applications, or it’s expressive, poetic, social, historical, or cultural dimensions.

For the 2025 edition, two proposals will be selected to participate in the Artistic Residency at the Association.

They aim to promote interdisciplinary exchange and encourage the use of bricks in sculptural and architectural creation, exploring and enhancing the knowledge, materials, and technologies available at the Association.

Benefits

• Each selected individual or collective will receive a grant of €1,200.
• Reimbursed food expenses up to a maximum of €352. 
• Reimbursed production/material expenses up to a maximum of €500.

Eligibility Criteria

• This call is open to creators from various artistic disciplines (architecture, photography, design, visual arts, etc.), aged 18 or older, and both national and international.
• Applications can be submitted individually or in pairs, with the understanding that the conditions and funding remain the same.

Evaluation Criteria

• Evaluation Criteria (scored from 0 to 20):
  • Conceptual quality of the project as described in the proposal 
  • Originality
  • Level of maturity demonstrated for its development 
  • Relationship with the social, environmental, or cultural heritage context of Montemor-o-Novo
  • Budgetary and resource feasibility

Application Requirements

• Proposals must include:
  • Project description (max. 800 words), with images, drawings, or diagrams 
  • Estimated list of resources and materials 
  • Signed originality declaration 
  • Candidate’s portfolio or website 
  • Curriculum vitae 
  • Project implementation timeline 
  • Two photographs, drawings, or illustrative images of the project (for communication purposes if selected)
