The Mercy Corps Ventures has excited to announce its fourth round of the Crypto for Good Fund.

After three rounds of C4G, with over 500 applicants, 15+ launched pilots and 40,000+ users reached, they are excited to return with a fourth edition of the Fund. Their high level objective remains the same: fund real world web3 use cases to drive global financial inclusion and climate resilience across the Global South. Their goal is to build out the evidence base to prove the scalability of blockchain-enabled solutions in making a positive impact in emerging markets.

With almost 20 web3 pilots launched to date, they aim to continue pushing the frontiers of innovation to identify initiatives in the cryptoverse with the highest potential for impact.

This edition of the Fund will be focused on the next frontier of crypto innovation. They’re looking for builders who are pushing the boundaries to improve the lives and livelihoods of underserved users across the Global South.

Themes

  • Priority themes include, but are not limited to:
    • Broader access — how can they onboard more people to financial freedom?
    • Programmable money — how can they create efficiencies by leveraging smart contracts?
    • Locally-adapted solutions — how can they tailor web3 solutions to local contexts?
    • Humanitarian aid delivery — how can they better serve the 299 million people in need of humanitarian aid?
    • ReFi / Climate innovation — how can they promote and restore the environment alongside financial gains?

  • Alongside capital, MCV will also provide mentorship, impact measurement advisory, access to partnership opportunities, knowledge exchange, and brand exposure.

Funding Information

  • The Fund will provide equity-free grants of up to $100,000 to 10 eligible startups.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Mercy Corps Ventures (MCV) is looking for startups and organizations operating in Africa, South and Southeast Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Pacific Islands, and Western Balkans that are innovatively applying web3 and blockchain technology to build solutions for underserved populations.
