The Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) is pleased to announce up to 10 AIAS-AUFF Fellowships in this 2024-2025 call.

The AIAS-AUFF Junior and Senior Fellowships are available for curiosity-driven, talented researchers from all over the world and within all research disciplines. All fellows are offered a salary based on seniority, and employment conditions and wages are regulated through the Danish collective union agreements. Moreover, the fellowship covers one-way travel costs and offers relocation assistance:

  • A full salary equivalent to the Danish wage levels and based on individual merits and seniority.
  • The journey to Aarhus (economy class only – and subject to prior approval of cost).
  • Expenses for the fee related to visa and work permit applications.
  • A standard computer, office supplies, etc. available during the fellowship. 
  • Fellows will have office space at AIAS and can participate in the academic training activities, conferences and workshops at AIAS. They will also be affiliated with the relevant research environments at Aarhus University.

Duration 

  • Junior fellowships last for 23 months and are open for researchers with:
    • a career experience of 2-10 years after completion of their PhD.
  • Senior fellowships last for 11 months and are open for researchers with:
    • a career experience of 11+ years after completion of their PhD.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The call is open to curiosity-driven researchers and welcomes applications from researchers:
    • from all research disciplines of any nationality
    • who comply with a mobility demand as applicants must not have resided or carried out their main work activity in Denmark for more than 12 months in the two years immediately prior to the deadline of the call.
    • with a career experience of 2-10 years after completion of their PhD (23 months junior fellowships)
    • with a career experience of 11+ years after completion of their PhD (11 months senior fellowships)
