Applications are now open for Riddergade AIR, a three-month residency program where professional visual artists from all over the world can develop and immerse themselves in their artistic practice and strengthen their network.
A residency program for professional, international visual artists with a focus on networking, research and artistic practice.
With Riddergade AIR, Viborg Art Gallery offers the artists workshop facilities, assistance for tasks of a practical and artistic nature as well as access to a broad local, national and international network.
Purpose
- The purpose of Riddergade AIR is to create connections between the residents and Danish artists, and to facilitate new opportunities for international development of the Danish contemporary art scene.
Benefits
- The residency program includes:
- Workshop facilities at the Viborg Art Gallery and accommodation in a room in the art gallery’s large villa a few minutes’ walk from the art gallery and with direct access to the Viborg Lakes.
- A travel grant of DKK 3,000.
- A monthly stipend of DKK 5,000 to cover living costs, transport as well as materials and production.
- Professional sparring, collaboration and exchanges with the art gallery’s staff, local artists, curators and other actors.
- A locally rooted network of volunteer co-hosts who introduce to the local area and help with practical arrangements.
Eligibility Criteria
- Professional, international visual artists who can document exhibition experience within an art context as well as previous collaborations with curators at a professional level.
Application Requirements
- A combined PDF with a motivated application of max 1 page, CV on 1 page and portfolio with max 6 photos must also be attached to the form.
