The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) is inviting applications for the Diversity and Inclusion Grant to help underrepresented and disenfranchised people worldwide to achieve professional success in the corrosion and coatings industry.

Program Goals

  • Increase access to professional opportunities for members of traditionally underrepresented or disenfranchised populations.
  • Fund career development efforts of deserving applicants to drive equitable workforce development.
  • Increase the number of qualified individuals in the workforce to support long-term sustainability for the industry.
  • AMPP will accomplish this by providing grant funds to applicants based on a standard rubric and evaluation cycle. Grant funds must be used for professional development in the coatings and corrosion industry, including (but not limited to): training courses, approved industry organizations’ event registration, AMPP membership fee, educational resource purchases, and professional tools and equipment.

Funding Information

  • The resources provided through this grant depend on the needs of each applicant as demonstrated through the application. Award amounts may range from $500 to $2,500.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Members of traditionally underrepresented or disenfranchised populations due to inequitable historical and present-day policies, or regulations, lack of infrastructure and resources, discrimination, conflicts, and targeted exclusion. These groups include (but are not limited to): members of underrepresented racial groups, women, people who identify as LGBTQIA+, individuals with disabilities, low-income individuals, and others.
